Well I have completely finished all of my shopping now including the last bits which are always the irritating things. I got my turkey this morning and all my veg so now I can just relax and enjoy christmas, once again hope you all have a great christmas, I will be keeping an eye on all of your blogs over the festive period xxx These are my final christmas cards I have made, I have used the free decoupage that I had in a magazine, on the first card I have used the snowflake embossing folder as the backing paper and layered onto mirri card, I have used ribbon which I got from QVC and the message is from craftwork cards. I have done similar on the bottom card but have used snowflake brads with this card, I had these with my crop-o-dile.
I was going to put this card into last weeks, paper take weekly challenge but there was some silver in it so didn't want to risk cheating on my 1st one :) I got this big black flower with my ribbon kit from little silver hat, I have layered it with a prima flower and black brad. It is matted on white and black card and the backing paper is from DCWV glitter stack, it looks better in real life as there are lines of silver glitter, I have also used a message from craftwork cards
This is my first go at a challenge from http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com/, I did promise myself I would start in the new year but could not resist the challenge this week. The challenge was "Black Tie! This weeks challenge is to make a black and white card! It can be for any theme/occasion but black and white only please!! Have fun!!Here's some from the DT!" I have layered some black card onto a white square card and layered a black circle, which I did on my computer with a christmas font and punched a white scalloped circle, the dotty paper was out of a pad I bought earlier on in this year and I wrapped that with black ribbon and a bow to finish.
I have at last made a card, and one of my teddys has found a home, only 5 more to go!! I have used red vellum which has been put through the cuttlebug and held on to red card with green brads, the message is from craftwork cards. I have attached the ribbon though snowflake eyelets from a kit I had with my crop a dile,
Just had an email from little silver hat to say they are not going to do the ribbons kits any more after February, I have only just joined last month and was very happy with the ribbons I received for December and was looking forward to a little surprise each month, such a shame, I WILL be posting some cards tomorrow, so please pop back xx
Can not believe again how quickly the time goes, is it just me!!! I have nearly finished all my christmas shopping and because work is so busy I have not had any time to make cards, but hopefully I will be able to very soon. Thank you for popping by xx
My teddy toppers have no cards to sit on because I have no time to make any for them, how sad it that, they are sooo cute too. These were free from a magazine (I love a nice freebie) and I made them up one evening thinking I would have loads of time over the next few days to make cards for them, but no luck, work comes first. It looks like I am going to have to sit and look at them for a while longer but thought I would share them with you
My Kit from Little Silver Hat has arrived this morning, I know I sound like a big kid, but I don't care :0) I like to get surprises and as much as I knew it was coming and what it looked like (had to check the website) it was still a lovely surprise, this is my first month and I could not believe the quality, even the packaging was lovely, just have to get my imagination going now to make some cards..........or maybe I might just keep them and look at them for a while longer :0)
Have just received an email to say my first kit from Little silver hat (http://www.littlesilverhat.co.uk/itemdetail.php?UniqueProductCode=DEC2007&type=kits) is on its way, and have just had a look on the website and I have to say it looks very nice, you get stamps too, I subscribed a while ago after seeing quite a few bloggers raving about it, and I am always a sucker for some pretty ribbon. I have not made any cards this weekend, too busy with the house and shopping and all the other boring stuff, I did make some decoupage toppers which I had free out of a magazine, it is only the second time I have done decoupage but it was nice to sit on the settee and just cut them all out and then make them all up without having to get loads of bits out, so I have made all 6 toppers and will hopefully be making cards for them to go on tomorrow. I will hopefully get my kit aswell,
I made this card last night, sorry the pictures are quite dark. I got the idea from http://kraftinkimmieskorner.blogspot.com/ she has some fantastic cards, thank you Sue for adding her to your favs so I could find her. I used an A5 card and cut away 3/4 of the top front to leave a hole. The backing papers were from pink petticoats new mini download range. I did the message on my computer using the christmas font layered that onto 3d foam. I also traced over the writing with a sakura clear stardust pen to give it some sparkle. The stamp I have used is penny black Snuggle, it is meant to have hearts above the mice but I did not ink them up. The stamp was then layered onto more pink petticoat paper and added to the front of the card. The ribbon was out of a kit from QVC. I like this design so much I am doing another couple but with different papers, will try and add more tomorrow.
Here is a Christmas card I made last night (well 2am this morning to be precise) I have used pink petticoat image and backing papers. I have also used some mirri card which I have put through the cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder, it looks really effective in real life. I have added some ribbon around the mirri card and used a message from craftwork cards
Sorry no cards at the moment, can not believe how quickly the time goes. I am still finding time to look at everyones blogs and am in awe of the great cards you are all making. Will hopefully be putting a card on tomorrow, so please come back :0)
Congratulations card for a friend who has just got a batchelor of science degree thingy me gig (sorry not very academic myself) and is a lover of pink :0) Card made up mainly from the lovely bazzill card, the message and date were done on the computer and matted onto bazzill, the stamp was coloured with sakura stardust pens and matted using my nesties, some ribbon and a flower were added.
At last I have finished my order for 4 cards, can not believe how quickly the time has gone (and how slow I am :o). I have used penny black snow ride stamp and again used sakura stardust pens, I have also added stickles glitter for the hat and snow, it does not show how glitzy it is in the picture. I have layered the stamp and the greeting onto red vellum and used a red ribbon down the edge of the card. Hopefully now I can get on and do a few challanges which I keep seeing, they look such fun and give you a good reason to use your imgination
This is a similar card I made before for a family friends relative. I have used penny black royal mail stamp and coloured with sakura glaze pens and stardust pens. I have matted the stamp onto white card and then green vellum which has been done with my nestabilities. The backing paper is from a kit I bought from QVC and I have done the message on the computer and then traced over with the clear sakura stardust pen for an added bit of sparkle. I have finished of with some sticky ribbon and a gold bow
Sorry I have not put any cards on this week, I just can not seem to find time to make any at the moment and that is not for the want of trying. I will be making some tomorrow even if I have to turn the phone off, lock the door and barracade myself in my craft room, can not wait :0) Oh by the way I can still find time to have a look at everyone elses blogs and wish my cards were as good as all of yours, go figure eh!!! Gina x
Well the weather was a little better this morning so I have uploaded a couple of photos. The first card is with my lovely penny black stamp crossing bridges!. I have watercoloured with whispers pens and used my new nestabilities to cut mat and layer the stamp onto
The card below is very bright and summery, something we need on a dull day. I have used all of the items from a new kit I bought from QVC from HOTP. Pastel Monograms, pastel flowers and the papers are paper pizazz sheets.
I have made a card and was going to put it on my blog but the weather has been that rotton and dark the picture is hardly recognizable. So it will have to wait until tomorrow. While I am on having a bit of a chat, I just thought I would say how nice it is to visit all of your lovely blogs and to tell you the truth I spend more time looking at everyone elses fantastic cards and reading all of your lovely tales that I don't seem to get time to make any cards, and it is very very very addictive. Oh well keeps me out of trouble and Dave gets to watch all of the football he wants now I am out of the way :0) Gina x
I spent 2 hours in my craft room last night giving myself a hard time about what card I should make for my brother in law and came up with a pile of........well I think you can guess, I went to bed with a headache and woke up worrying that I was a useless card maker. I still think it but I have made a card for him, I think my problem is I over complicate things and should just be more simple, so the card below is very simple, just one piece of striped black and white card, some metal tags held on with brads and with letter rubons and some stickers below, it does look quite effective in real life. Luckily this is my last male birthday this year until Daves that is but he won't mind what card I do him, he is very easily pleased!!
Another 2 christmas cards, I have decided I will not be making anymore until I have made a few birthday cards, a change is as good as a rest as they say. This is my first christmas making cards and I am finding it quite hard to make them different. I have heard it might be best just to make a batch of the same but I do get bored doing the same thing.
Anyway the card below I am quite proud of, the christmas tree stamp was free out of a magazine, I have stamped it out 6 times into the shape of a large christmas tree, I have cuttlebug embossed a strip across the middle and edged that off with sticky ribbon.
This card is a pink cat studio stamp, I have stamped onto red card and white glitter card, shows up better in real life. I have then added a stamped holly (again free with magazine) and coloured in with sakura pens. The idea of the cupcake as a christmas cake was inspired by dawn (All pink Girl) recipe challange card. I am really having problems with the quality of my photos so if anyone has any tips please let me know. Am off now to make some birthday cards whoopeeee
I have been asked by a family friend to make 4 cards for her relatives in America, I am struggling at the moment and have only made one, she wants A5 in size and is quite traditional wanting the reds and greens. I have done the greeting on GCF5 and traced over with sakura clear gelly roll pen which gives it a nice sheen, the backing paper is from papermania traditional christmas paper pack, the stamp is penny black royal mail and I have coloured in with sakura glaze and gelly roll pens, and added some glitz it glitter glue for the snow, the ribbon is ribbon :0) it looks wonky on the picture and you know what it looks wonky in real life too.......... Oh well off to try and make another 3
I have done a few more christmas cards, the picture quality is not very good and for some reason the more pictures I take lately the worse they are. I have stamped out quite a few sheets of penny black stamps over the last few days, I just have to make the cards up now. So I am off now for inspiration.
Ok, don't feel you need to comment on this beautiful card but it would make my partner (Dave's) day if you did, It was my birthday last week and to feel he was doing his bit for card making he decided to made!!!! me a card, Well here it is, he took over my craft room, used my cuttlebug (unassisted), glitter glue, rubons and a few embellishments and voila a card!!!! was made. Bless him he did try
If you don't like pink, this card may not appeal :0) Stamped with pink cat studio and coloured with pink sakura gelly roll pens, matted and layered onto bazzill cupcake trio paper which was punch out with the woodware superduper scalloped edge punch.
Just a quick thank you to everyone who has looked at my blog already, I have tried to reply to all who have left comments but wanted to say outloud "Thank you" I will be back tomorrow to add more cards xx
I have just made by first Christmas cards of the year, this will be my first card making Christmas and from watching the gallery on Docrafts forum I think I am one of the last people to start, I can not get my head around Christmas starting in October but I am sure I will realise the amount of time it is going to take to make my cards, I should of started in July :-0
Just wanted to add a thank you to everyone who has looked so far, please come back soon :-)
This is my first attempt at uploading a card, sorry about the quality, as usual the camera batteries had run out so used my mobile. I made the card for a friend of my Mom's using my new stamp which I had for my birthday. I used sakura gelly roll pens which I watercoloured, they have a lovely glitter shine to them which you can not see on the picture.
Well this is my first ever blog, I don't know much about blogging but am a very willing learner. Please come and visit often, I will be adding cards (when I know how :-0) as often as I can and will try to keep my blog up to date. Thanks for looking.
